Lowering the launch control

My car has just recently been flashed, and the rev limit was raised to 6000. Now I could never bring myself to launch it at 5k, for fear of damage. What if the 2 step was lowered to 3800? And you sat building boost at near peak torque rpm. Wouldn't this make for a good and "Safe" launch?

There's really no such thing as a "safe" launch, its more of practice makes perfect

Plus, your not going to build boost quickly if its set at 3800...you will also most likely have to slip the clutch more to get a good launch like you would normally.

Mine is set at 5650 and works great...just remember if you wanna play you gotta be willing to pay...

if you launch properly its really not that harsh on the car, the clutch yes but not the entire car...

i set mine at 3K just to see what it would do? Basically, i just got my tactrix cable and was just playing around.

I got a check engine light for doing that. DOn't remember what the code was, but the car didn't like it. I think the ecu saw that drastic change 6K to 3K and flipped.

ANyhow. I have mine set at 6K and use it often at the track.

How much boost do you guys build with 2 steps near 6K?

I have zt2 and log boost, and I only build 5-6psi with it at 5000K

And about 7-8 at 6K, i'm trying to figure out if it shoudl be higher or not? Or maybe I have a leak somewhere.

im guessing leak... im pretty sure i build at least 10 to 12. Also how much you build is determined by how much your throttle is open. If you barely touch the gas, you dont build much at all.

I just had mine flashed to 6,000. Used it for the first time today and bunt the clutch nicely lol.

I was told to expect about 12lbs at 6,000.

Chris asked me what I wanted it at and I told him between 5600 and 5700...so he set it right in the middle. I build 8-10 psi pretty quickly but might raise it a little for the track
