So let me get this straight... this guy's car is effed up and has to pay for it, and now you want 30 bux to pay for your fluids? To me that's rIdiculous.

If his car were stolen and no longer in his possession you would still want to be reimbursed? I'd back you if he backed out of the deal, but realistically you're asking too much, as well as "kicking a dog while he's down"(Considering what he said is true)

lol, +1 for paying for the fluids. He prob has insurance. Anyone who was planning on buying a turbo kit can foot $40. (not to mention the time you put into it). You lucked out though, a refresher on internet BS seemed to be overdue and you didn't loss out on that much.

I kind of skimmed through some of the responses, but I agree with the ones that said asking him to reimburse you for fluids or whatever cost associated with taking the turbo kit off your car is completely unreasonable. How is it his fault you went through all that expense before the deal was finalized? I'm not trying to flame; I am trying to understand the rationale here.

shoulda taken a down payment.

stop whining. man up and take your licks indead of trying to get sympathy from people on a forum. "dear diary, i had a bad day today "

for a guy who drives 4 cars, having to pay for fluids should be a drop in the bucket for you.

Look, . . . No...Regardless of how much fluids cost, Scorke was saying that was the least this person could do...If you rear-end a Ferrari are you going to say, "oh well, you can afford this, you're a Ferrari owner this should be a drop in the bucket for you"?...Take into account how many people don't have the know-how to install their own parts...Had Scorke fallen into this categorey (or had he simply not had enough time to do the work himself), he would have had to pay a shop to uninstall and reinstall based off of someone's promise...This isn't a "dear diary" sympathy thing, and this was hours of his life and downtime on transportation that could have been avoided completely...If anything, I feel that this story should serve as a seller-beware...You should be thanking Scorke instead of scolding him, imagine had something like this happened to you...Scorke is a valuable asset and an ultra-knowledgable person on this board...I'm sorry to hear about something like this, and thank you for letting us know that we should be careful before trusting buyers...If I've learnd anything about through this thread, Get.the.Deposit.First!!>>Had this person's story been accurate, they would be out of money but that may alleviate some of your troubles...Had the story been fabricated, I think that they would have been less-reluctant to follow through with their purchase...Sucks, but I agree, the least that person could do is pay for the fluid, I mean you were really willing to go the distance to help out this person by saving the shipping cost, shame that nice guys get taken advantage of.

I find it curious that the supposed purchaser hasn't responed to this thread? Pictures of the "wrecked" evo would confirm weither the intent of purchasing was faricated or not, am I wrong?

Sucks that he didn't buy your kit, should have had him put a deposit on it at least. Trying to get him to pay for the fluids is somewhat humerous. Why not drive one of the other cars in your sig while trying to sell the dismantled turbokit. If the deal sounded sketchy to begin with why bother w/ this buyer. If anything you should make the buyer go through the hassel of paying to have the parts shipped or make the trip to your house to pick them up. Live and learn...
