worst day ever

well i was driving to an aw junkies meet tonight and all of a sudden boom and the car starts to stutter and misfire so frantically i pull over, luckily my buddy in his sti was following me so he pulls in. we pop the hood and you can hear the misfire in there popping and stuttering. car shop i go to was less than a mile so we drive it back to look into it further. looking at the spark plug cover in spot 1 there is a crack on the cover, we take it off and pull the plug to find a broken case and a compressed plug. so it turns out that my car an 05 evo with 27000 miles thru a piston and knocked the plug and stripped the head. so needless to say im going back to stock on sat. and towing her back to mitsubishi to have WARRANTY work done. hopefully i get a new motor.... but knowing how they are i will probably have a fight on my hands....

Good evening, sorry about your misfortune.

If I was you, I wouldn't announce this online.
( especially if modified even slightly ).

It is known that Mitsubishi reps lurk on this forum.

Just some friendly advice.

took my mods down just in case nothing out of hand though and i was only running 19lbs of boost. no tune and im not saying the shop name because if they supposivley look on here i dont want it coming back to me. upon further inspection though the spark plug crush washer wasnt even crunched so we think that that could of been half the problem so the piston might not of hit it just the compression knocked the plug out. but the last two threads of the plug were mangled so i dont know...

OMG this happened to me 4 days ago. Although my spark plug wasn't compressed, it was just shot out of the head and split my spark plug boot in half. Haven't tested out the coil yet but I'm hoping it's fine. The thread on the plug is also meshed up and the head also got stripped. My car is a 2003 and its stock with 52k on the clock. Keep us posted on what the actual cause was. I'm really curious to know.
