I do not see why it would be a prob to tow your track gear. Tires, tools, etc. 1000 lbs is not much more than a car full of big friends.

I've seen people towing a sports bike with an evo. If you're only talking a lightweight four wheeler, you should be fine.

i wouldn't do it.

sure did.. ive been a motorcycle road racer for years and i saw all sorts of vehicles towing bikes to the track.

im glad this thread came up. currently i have a Lightning (see avatar). i bought so i can throw my bikes in the back and head to the track faster than anyone else. but now ive given up road racing while i save for a house. and im not using the truck all that much since i only get about 13mpg mixed driving. although i still ride dirt and i need to haul my crf450r around from time to time. ive been researching the evo quite a bit as awd, and great performance would be nice. but i would have to have a hitch on it. obviously its not the ideal tow vehicle, but towing a couple dirtbikes around wouldnt weigh much (if any) more than a vehicle full of people. figure 2 dirtbikes and a trailer will weigh roughly the same as 3 extra 200lb people (approx). the car should have zero problem towing that sort of weight.

i found this online as well.

I saw a guy using his miata to do that Its got to be slow as frozen crap. The evo I am sure can tow that.
