Question Test Drive

Who is still waiting for a test drive of both an Evo and an STi to decide which you want?

Now that the early adapters are starting to die down I hope that dealers will beginning to allow more test drives within the next month.

Anyone know of dealers that are allowing test drives, post it.

I walked in, showed the salesmanager my purchase order for a STi, and he had one of the salesmen drive a Evo out of the showroom for me to drive. This was like a month ago.

I am still shopping for the right Evo at the right price, or I will continue my STi wait....

I bought mine sight unseen. In fact I had never even seen an Evo in the flesh before plunking down my money.

But I have a habit of buying cars this way. I did it with my last car too.

I debated for months. A few options made the choice easy. I did test drive a red EVO and then bought a Black one from a different dealership. Needless to say they read me the riot act before driving it but the car was a dealer trade from NJ and had 145 miles on it anyway.

I was nice ot the car but who knows what happened to it before

i test drove it, and KNEW i wanted it...

i would not have bought it if i couldn't have driven it first... the dealership knew me though, so i think that is why they allowed me the test drive...

Defeinitely drove it... would not buy without driving it. Stest drove a WRX, then across the street to the Evo, then back across to the WRX again... it was clear then which car I needed.

Fresno Mitsubishi (fresno ca) will arrange a test drive if you are serious I guess... the let me drive it with no problem!

I pretended I was ready to buy that day, got to beat the living **** out of the car, then at the end of the demo...

"Ok, ill give you $25,000 for it, and im not willing to budge on the price"

I was able to test drive in Texas (Beaumont, on rt. 10) last week.

The guy was pretty cool there, but I did not pressure him at all.

I told him 'I'm driving everthing before I decide on anything' and if he would not let me take it out, I would simply wait for another dealer to let me take it out. [everything is the EVO, STI, R32 and MCS w/WORKS kit]

Anyway, I took it out and posted my thoughts on another thread.

They have two, a black and (the one I drove) white. They seem to be selling for sticker plus the 'paint protection' crap and a few other bits, not as bad as some of the other $tealers I see black-listed here...

I guess it really didn't matter for me because I've been a die-hard EVO fan since my days in Japan so I knew exactly what I wanted.
