Please help!

I have decided to get an evo and I am comming from an mustang. Well the story is the car I really wanted was a jeep grand cherokee srt8 but they wont budge on price. So i found an 03 evo with 13k on the clock for 24k. The only problem is the salesman who sold the car sold it to someone in pittburgh. Anyways the person took it to get an oil change and the dealer found an upgraded turbo and ecu flash needless to say they voided the warranty so the guy took it back from the customer. Is it worth getting the evo with no warranty or keep looking?

Are you planning on upgrading the car? If not, tell them to give you a even better deal. You could try to milk it for all it's worth.

The only thing transferring from the warranty is the power train for 5yrs/50k I believe and your half way there.

When you buy a EVO you never really get a warranty anyways. But I dont like to buy modded cars, when something breaks or is not right you never really know where to start.

You never know. Never judge a book by its cover. If you can, take it to a mechanic you can trust and let them put it up on the rack. Better be safe then sorry.

the evo has way more potential and if you are looking for a fast car that will put other cars like the srt 8 to shame get the evo

what I wanna know is how did an oil change turn into them finding an upgraded turbo and a reflash (turbo I can see if the mechanics actually know their turbos, but the reflash? Why would they even come across that doing an oil change, sneaky bastards)

Sounds like your heart is set on the Jeep. Go with that instead. The Evo shouldn't be a consolation prize. It should be THE prize, if one's truly gonna be happy with it.

24k for a used 03 is ridiculous, and especially if it's heavily modded. You ask how can someone mess up a car in 13k miles???? It doesn't take 100 miles to mess up a car. A heavily-modded Evo like that is almost certain to have problems.
