Walbro 255

Hello as i said before I bought my Evo VIII second handed

anyway it has right now a 255Walbro, the previous owner gave me a bunch of stuff wich one of them was a second Walbro, i had the car in the US and told me that this pumps are very cheap in the US and because they tend to broke down quickly he just bouhgt another one

so me question is this correct? to they broke down easily??? there are a few people that want to buy me the pump but im not sure because if its true, better to keep it closely

Not true. Might as well sell it. If you need one it's $110 or so. Never heard of people having problems with them

From what I read they are rather reliable and you can pick em up for about 75 on ebay.

Iv had my Walbro 255 for over a year now with no problems. I track my car & live at 5500ft, 100 plus temps. They are loud but its a reassurance that they work.

I've had a couple go bad on me. I always keep a spare in the trunk. Since you live in Latin America, once you factor in international shipping costs from the U.S. and the pain of having your Evo parked for about a week, maybe 60 miles from nowhere...I would just keep it as insurance. Nothing lasts forever.

BTW, post up a pic of your car, and welcome to EvoM.

Ive also had mulitiple walbros go bad on me. the only down side to them going bad ( at least with my experience) is they dont just stop working they stop being effecient. I had one on a customers gt30r evo8, car left running perfect he had it for like a week. He calls me up and says its cutting out so i put it back up on the dyno to find the pump would lose pressure fast under full throttle. He got really lucky he caught it fast and didnt hurt anything.

Most the time they work good, sometimes they will fail, but for the question at hand you can sell it for the little extra $$ you may get or keep it, its really up to you, ebay sells them cheap and so does every dealer. Not really a hard thing to get to central america... good luck and enjoy the evo!!!
