Lol the oil cooler isnt cooling the oil coming or goin from the turbo, but the motor. The fact that the turbo is HOT, and will cook the oil that sits in the turbo, cause once the motor is off the oil aint flowin! So an oil cooler does nothing for the turbo sittin.

Plus letting things cool off is very good for everything in the car. Warm up is just as important and people DONT know that. I let my car warm up 3-5 min without driving it!!!

Yes you can just slow down for 1-3 min and not use a turbo timer, but for $100 bucks?? thats cheap, plus turbo timers have many other functions as well so its well worth the money. Just like a fuel pump you can get by with out it but be safe for 80 bucks save your motor!

I can name many times in one week where I didnt slow down for 1-3 min so the turbo timer is worth it...! Trust me i have blown a turbo from not lettin it cool properly, just be safe not cheap!

PS If your hurtin that bad for $100 mod, maybe a 30 thousand dollar evo is out of your budget too!

Its not about the 100 dollars, I just dont see a need for something like a turbo timer when I know that cooling a car is best done driving it rather than standing in one place idling. The oil being cooled by the cooler, in contrast cools the motor. And if you have a cooler motor, then the cooler the oil will be going in the turbo right?

Have you ever read the owners manual for Audi? It specifically says in there, "Do not warm up the car" start and drive. Now I agree with that, but also I believe not to race the car and avoid high rpms/WOT until the motor is warmed up.

The start up of the car is when most damage is done. You only need a couple seconds of warm up so that the oil has lubricated parts in the motor before normal driving.

I have no idea what you do to your cars, but my previous turbo car I never used a turbo timer. I had the stock turbo small TD04 and then upgraded to .50 trim and never used a turbo timer. I just made sure to drive normal the last minute before reaching my destination. Both turbo's had zero problems and no shaft play.

Funny thing is, I cant remember when was the last time I was forced to make a WOT run because of the road conditions and other drivers. Especially during moments before making my stop.
