The Freak Evo from SAUDI ARABIA (caution LS1 Inside )
Apparently you can't read any better than the SRT-4 guy. Either that, or the fact that you can't come up with any argument to refute me leaves you resorting to personal insults again...which seems more likely. I never said what matters is fuel mileage, and you'd have to truly be an idiot to get that impression from my posts. What matters is power, responsiveness and ease of installation regarding mods, efficiency, cost, maintenance, and size. Hang on a minute, that's exactly what I've been saying all along, as well as the post you quoted! Shocking! And yet you claim that "all I can say" is what matters is fuel mileage. Laughable at best. I was pointing out that GM's OHV motors achieve as good or better fuel mileage while making nearly twice as much power as the 4G. Obviously, you lack the reading skills to understand that, which is why I've gotten tired of this thread.
I can clearly see where you get the Prius comment though, given that my past two vehicles have been an LS1 Z28 and a 72 Stingray
Any idiot can realize that output will decrease as displacement increases? This is why Honda's F20C specific output is double that of the LS-1? I seriously doubt that specific output will decrease by that much with the addition of 3.7 liters. I think this is just an excuse the pushrod jarheads make to explain the crappy specific output of their rickety V8's. In reality, I have seen with my own two eyes a Ford naturally aspirated 4.6L 32V make over 500hp. Don't believe me? Check out svtperformance.com What did you say about specific output again? Yeah I didn't think so.

Oh no, you've been proved wrong yet again. In any case, this is an irrelevant argument. You'll rarely see an engine of that power output with that specific output put into production, for a variety of reasons that stem back to the fact that specific output generally decreases as displacement increases, all other things equal. Cars that may have engines like that are going to be expensive indeed. Specific output is just an excuse ricers and the ignorant use to combat the low ABSOLUTE output of their torqueless 4-bangers.

Oh, and in any case, I thought I'd let you know that the Z08 Corvette - what will be one step above the Z06, but not at the level of the supercar SS - will be sporting a ~635hp 6.2L OHV N/A V8. That car will probably be around $100,000.
Anyway, I'm done - I'll let you carry on with your idiocy and selective reading.
this argument is too technically complicated for me. Does this type of argument even matter when it comes to owning a car that you love? Can't we just appreciate that an evo owner did something new? What does it matters whats more efficient.... the engines are just too different for this argument of whats better. I like the pull in my evo but I can also appreciate a ride in my uncles 69 charger... Can't we just leave it at that?

Forced induction and technology is not a replacement for displacement. It's a crutch for a low displacement motor that does not have enough displacement to produce power and torque in a naturally aspirated form.
It's a fact that a higher displacement motor with forced induction has higher potential for top end power, because it will have the ability to spool a bigger turbo compared to a smaller engine. Add in some technology into the equation with big displacement and forced induction you will have even more power.
With more displacement you will have more power and torque all throughout the power band. Everybody should know and agree to that, unless you are stupid.

I agree. This is the first evo engine swap I've ever heard of. It' awesome that it's possible, but it's almost a sacrilege. I love the 4G63. The only thing better would be one from the evo X. +1 for effort
The only reason they went to the 4.6 is due to gas mileage and emissions. If ford thought they could continue to run the 5.0 they would have. People will deal with the 4.6 sure, but ford doesn't have the R&D to continue to put OHV motors out and continue to meet EPA standards and still increase in HP. But hey, continue to be a fan boy with your head in the sand. I've beat my fare share of LT1 and LSx series cars, but they aren't doing nearly the amount of stuff a modded evo does. Destroke an LS1 give it proportionally the same size turbo to motor ratio, and see and car get waxed by "old technology" Or simply take the turbo off an evo, raise the compression to 10.5 to 1, and run an LS1 car, and be prepared to be waxed. If turbo technology can improve, why not OHV tech. Turbos are super old too, but we still use them.
RS6 Audi has a 420hp V8 & AWD, guess an Evo can too! All it takes is money....no shortage of cash over there. The aluminum LSX probably doesnt weigh much more than the 4G/snail and a big battery. Im thinking Garret67 out back remote mounted no intercooler
I don't really know what happend to the ls1 evo b/c the last, I think, 4- 6 pages have been 2-3 or maybe four ppl talking nothing about the ls1 evo. So I just kinda skipped through the last couple of pages.
Can't wait to see a video on this evo, or something.

lol, awesome! You guys need to put racing slicks on and get some weight in the back of the car! That evo isnt getting any traction with the original spec wheels...
I'd like to see what she could do at the strip...

Couple of burnouts dont impress me.Take that frankenstein to the track.
