The Freak Evo from SAUDI ARABIA (caution LS1 Inside )
FYI,
After a quick search for engine weights, the difference between the 4G63 and LSI is less than 100lbs. Also, that's not including the turbo or intercooler for that matter so the difference in weights is negligible. Someone will prove me if I'm wrong here please.

Gotta love the sound of a cammed ls1...
My '98 TA with a Random Technology exhaust system was the best sounding car EVER in my opinion. If only I could get that sound on every car I own.. Listening to that video reminded me how much I miss that sound.

I'm guess that thing would run around 20.5 seconds in the quarter. It will never hook up. Of course you could put slicks on it, but you would practically have to tub that thing. Useless as a street car, but DAMN cool.
I disagree. Some suspension work and decent tires would be fine. GTOs run IRS with puny 245s and are solid low 13-sec cars.
Anyways I would really like to hear how they plan on mounting the LS1 to the factory AWD system. The LS1 is mounted longitudinally, however the factory drivetrain is designed for a transversely mounted engine. This will just be a RWD burnout machine with no capability except maybe drag racing (with slicks only). Honestly why waste an Evo on this project when you can just buy some clapped out F-body for cheap?

This is all I wanted to hear.

I myself wouldn't do it either, but if you're going to do a V8 swap, the LS1 is the best one to do it with. There aren't any other modern V8's out there I'm jazzed up about.
Why do you have to tub it? There is no reason to do that. All they have to do is put some wider and stickier tires to get some traction and they don't have to be slicks.
The car sounds great, first of its kind, and is very original, I think it is way cool.
You could have saved money by just putting EVo body on an F-Body or vette...
I traded my Evo for a z06, and missed my evo so much I got it back...LS6 was boring for me....in afterthought I should have put a blower on it...
where am i going with this...
