Anyone with a IX and Vishnu v400?
Anyone with a IX and Vishnu v400?
Can't seem to find anyone under search that has a IX with the v400 and timeslips. I'm interested in getting it but would like to hear what the exhaust soudns like and what kind of numbers people are getting.
vishnu has basically abandoned the evo aftermarket. It would be a very wise choice to look in another direction. You're in the midwest so why in god's name have you not contacted AMS or Buschur Racing!!!
Only thing is I dont want to spend much over $2500 right now. AMS while close, wants $6400 for stage 1,2, cams, clutch and a bunch of other stuff. While it would be nice to have, it is expensive.
Noob!!
You would be wise to learn about different tuners' idea of Stage I, II, etc. You don't need a clutch and AMS' price is nowhere near $6K for what you're looking for.
What you're looking for is a TBE and a tune (pretty sure that's what a vishnu IX V400 consists of).

You could save a crap load and get a used DP,TP,CB from the for sale section here and then have it dyno tuned. I wouldnt mess with a mail in flash as too many people have had bad luck with them, myself included.
I have a V400 as do two of my friends and they are fantastic cars.
I really don't care what people have to say about Vishnu but they have not abandoned the Evo tuning market and will be one of the VERY FEW companies that will be able to tune the X ECU directly...just wait and see if you don't believe me and we will see who is right.
The V400 package is a bargain at $2,000, makes the car very quick without exceeding any limits of safety and reliability. About the only other thing worth doing at this level of performance are the AMS LCIP at $240 and T-bolt house clamps at about $40 and then you are pretty much done.
This will make your car into a great little monster perfect for daily driving and generally ripping it up.
If your goal is to build a 500HP+ flame throwing monster, then Vishnu is not for you and you are best served going elsewhere as they have in fact abandoned this portion of the Evo tuning market.
I don't have a time slip but can tell you that the claims on the Vishnu site are on the money and that when I was researching my purchase, I saw V400 owners with time slips to back those numbers.
And your question about the exhaust...it has a nice throaty sound to it with no droan or buzz. It in no way sounds ricer and is loud enough to get the point across but not so loud that it will **** off the people around you.
Good luck in your choice!
