Evo only running at 11volts

I charged my battery and it only runs at 12 volt even at 7800 rpm's. If i let it sit for a couple days it goes down to 11 volts and then 10 until it wont start anymore. Now as long as the car stays running it wont die, but when I full throttle it is keeps hick uping. My first thought is obviously a charging problem with the alternator, but the car only has 16,000 miles on it. Can some one shed some light on this for me.

my gauge reads 14.5 V at idle with no accessories on, but stays stable around 14 most of the time.

Might be a bad cell in the battery, or the alternator, or both. If the regulator (I guess this is built into the alternator?) has gone bad then it can screw the battery as well by overcharging it, I've had this happen on a couple of motorcycles.

+1 but if you have no/few mods it might be worth trying anyway, it won't cost anything for them to say no.

Alternator should be a reasonably easy job you can do yourself on most cars.
