I need a very close estimate on total weight of:

4G63 engine with everything (IX turbo, manifolds, head, alt, starter)
Gearbox
T-case

No wiring harness, ECU, intercooler, radiator, or down pipe

If you know what one item ways that's cool also.

5spd transmission is approx 150lbs
acd transfercase is approx 75lbs

i know this from when i wanted to get those from shep sent to me in Kuwait.

Ended up getting the transfercase only, at $6 per pound.... you do the math

So approx weight of gearbox and transfercase is 225 lbs.

Anybody have an idea how much the engine weights?

 

a complete engine will be right around 320lbs...

 

So we are talking about 550 lbs... Damn!

Haha not planning much. Was going to do a LS1 as I bought a super clean RR 2005 VIII with no engine, but plans have changed. BTW I run www.SilviaV8.com forums. Putting LS1's in 240sx's!

Anyways I now bought a IX engine, IX engine harness and IX AEM EMS. Will go cams and green. Should be fun.

It will be an VIII with a IX heart and JDM IX ***.

I needed weights so I can get shipping quotes.

 

and there way me thinking you might have some intresting project lined up!

Glad to hear that you will keep the AWD system. The LS1 would have been powerful, but a major headache (too much fabrication needed). POST PICS on the IX SWAP!!!
