It's not only the turbo, it's the engine also. The 4G63T is just a masterpiece, it so surprises me the lack of enthusiam, lack of knowledge, and lack of respect that this awesome engine gets, not only from other cars, but even EVO or DSM owners. I mean this engine is capable of over 600whp on the stock block, capable of over 650whp on pump gas, capable of over 1000whp fully built, tuned, and modded and the cost to this is actually relatively cheap, of course it costs thousands, but in comparison to many other cars it is pretty cheap. You name a 4 cylinder power record and you can almost guarrantee the 4G63 owns it. All this from engine that stock starts life as a pretty much tiny 2.0l, I have milk containers in my fridge bigger than that. The engine is just remarkable, and what is so amazing is that honestly I don't think we've even seen the peak of the 4G63T especially in the EVO, I believe 1100whp is just around the corner, and I wouldn't be surprised to one day see numbers close to 1200whp. I also wouldn't be surprised to see 9 second time slips out of EVOs on straight pump gas one day. This is why I believe the engine in the EVO X has its work cut out trying to replace the 4G63T. If the 4B11T (I believe that is what it is) is even close to the potential of the 4G63T it will be an awesome engine.

+1 . I can't explain it better then Him.

+1 for 3000 ays but the 4B11T isn't going t compare I don't think. At least not stock block. it's going to be aluminum( i think. Now that i write it it sounds wrong) and it's going to be an open deck engine, which makes holding the engine together at high. cylinder pressures harder. Sorry if i drag this off topic.

A logitudinally mounted motor is more efficient than our setup that is my only complaint...unecessary power loss...but i guess i will leave it to the engineers...

Thats pretty wild. I never really would have known the difference without thinking about it really. I guess you have to figure Subies put down only 24/14 more horses depending on whether you have the VIII or IX and have way larger displacement with the 2.5L. So it makes sense their turb is going to be smaller as well as the housings.
