That black loom does contain the wiring for a third brake light on the wing. The same goes for evos and lancers. It would cost too much money for mitsu to make two separate harnesses so they bundled both options into one. I have one of the rare '03 evolutions that came with the oz wing and that's where my plug comes from. It was the base model wing for all evolutions in 2003 but most opted for the $680 option cf wing.

What makes no sense? Manufacturers have been doing this for years on several lines of vehicles that share a similar platform.

Lol I said it DOES make sense. The EVO with the OZ spoiler doesn't look bad.

Haha sorry for some reason I had it in my head you said it doesn't make sense. Yea I kinda liked it at first but I love the wingless look so much better so that wing it currently sitting in the garage lol.
