I searched but didn't really find anything...can anyone tell me what the wires in the trunk are on the left side? It looks like there are 2 different looms...and i'm wondering what the black one is that has 3 wires in it, I think 2 of them were green.

You can kind of see in this picture I found that there is a grey one and a black one...I need help figuring out what the black one is:

Haha...It doesn't matter what car...all the evos should have these wires...it's on the trunk arm on the left there.

 

I believe one of them is wiring for the 3rd brake light if you were to install the low spoiler from the '03's or a lancer. I believe there's a harness hiding somewhere on the right side of the trunk.

 

Im pretty sure the gray one is the trunk release cable and the black one...do the EVO's have a brake light somewhere on the trunk? if not it could be a cable going to a keyless trunk release or a sensor of some sort.

 

They don't (technically some of the 03's do) but I'm almost positive that's what it's there for

Look around for a harness on the right side of the trunk

 

Cut, no. First time i've opened the trunk...got the car today. I'll drop by the dealer and get their side...

 

its for the third brake light on the lancers. its ran but the end is taped up.

 

should be for the trunk switch

turns on the light in the dash when its opened.....
and it might even turn on the dome light

the grey is the trunk release

 

Grey is just dandy...the black one was just hanging there and made me curious

 

doesnt have any of that... its for the light, test it and see

 

So it's for a lancer wing brake light, that I don't even have? All evos just have this black line run up into nowhere and mine just got pulled out?
