Dealerships can install those - I checked and the 3-gauge set is $400 plus installation. It was going to cost me $489 to get it in my EVO, and I said screw them, I'll find something else.

I have the 3 gauge set & harness for evo .... I basically bought so I could have a boost gauge without hacking and splicing, but at the time of purchase I wasn't aware that my HKS EVC has a digital bg feature (since I had NOT installed it yet), so I would like to sell this gauge set. since it the dealership will not let me return due to the fact that it's a special order -- bastards! Everything is brand new in the box with receipt. Pm me with an offer if you are interested ... thanks.

evo1 I may be interested ....I would like to see a photo from someone installed or otherwise. In another thread I did hear someone complaining that it mounted so low and the gauges were not aimed toward the driver it was hard to even see.

I also have the factory 6-CD changer coming so I'm not sure how they both fit.

Any photos out there??

vmcorcor,

The thing to do is relocate your cd/radio (headunit) to the bottom location with the supplied kit (comes with the sport meter kit and is perfect size for a cd headunit). Then install the sport meter kit where the radio was ... it's then in a much higher and easier to read location. Do you a search and I believe you will see pics of someone who installed it this way. I have an Alpine headunit that I'm selling with a motorized face (can tilt up) so my cd headunit being too low is not a problem. The tilt feature is not extremely important, but it makes it easier since the cd headunit sits low. I recently upgraded to an eclipse headunit with the tilt. Let me know because if I don't get offers, I'll probably just install it for just for kicks ... and also the oil temp gauge is useful.

evo1 - I'm not totally familiar with your setup. Can you send me a list and maybe a picture of it?

Also, how do you like your HKS downpipe, and what did you gain with it?

My mods are listen below. If you are referring to pics of relocating my cdp and the sport meter kit, I have not moved the cdp or installed the sport meter kit yet. I will if I don't get any fair offers. The only other performance mod that is not listed is a Works ECU reflash that is on the way. As far as audio mods ... I have an Eclipse CDP, MB Quart/Boston mids & highs, JL Audio amps (500x1 & 300x4), and a Kicker Solobaric L7, 12" sub.

Also, how do you like your HKS downpipe, and what did you gain with it?
Big gains with the HKS downpipe. The power band is much more snappy, especially in the mid range -- car pulls much harder all the way to redline. It's all polished stainless (even the flanges), well designed and looks very good. The HKS is 2.5" in diam,
so you shouldn't lose any low end torque. I personally do not
plan to have more the 320 whp so I believe that 3" is overkill. Also, I wanted to retain my stock cat, which is 2.5" .... so a 3" downpipe wasn't the the best idea. The stock downpipe is crap --only 2" in diameter and very restrictive. I fully recommend the HKS dp.

evo1...is that installation what they sell factory or an aftermarket adapter?

I don't want to relocate anything unless that's how they sell it from Mitsu factory?

Are you saying the sports meter kit from Mitsu relocates the CD player? I'll have to search but I though there was someone that installed it in the factory setup and it was down low?

The sport meter kit comes with a supplied factory install kit for the lower tier. Now whether you choose to install your cd player (headunit) or gauge package in it, is entirely up to you. They are both the same width and height, and either will fit. That's why I would rather relocate ... because as far as I know, the radio can be relocated to the bottom tier with the supplied kit (I've tested the fit and it's fine), while the gauges can be installed in the cdp/radio slot. Some one has taken a picture of this here vmcorcor but I can't seem to pull it up on a search yet.

Yes, it can ... I'm not saying that it is designed to do it ... but the supplied kit that hold the sport meter kit is the perfect size for the radio, and then one can buy a simple radio install kit (or whatever is needed) to install the meter kit in the radio/cdp location.

on a side note, has anyone installed the meter kit themselves?? is this a do it yourself project, meaning are the sufficient directions with the kit telling you where every wire goes???'

I would only buy it if i can install it myself.

Still couldn't find the link I wanted but here's a pic of the radio relocated to the bottom tier. If you look closely at the kit that the Alpine cdp is in -- that is exactly wat one would get by buying the sport meter installation kit.

RTWEVO,

It does come with detailed instructions ... I don't believe it requires anything major -- no splicing, etc. Should be an easy DIY.
