evo VII
Best chances are www.evolutionimports.com but you'll just waste your 40G's. Why not just get the Evo VIII? It seems reasonable enough. If you do try EI good luck. You won't even see the Evo VII. Waste of money.
I really dont see how ignorant you are. Its pathetic you are a moderator makes not want to go to this website because of ppl like you. How many times are you going to bash people for nothing. Its funny to see that the only people that have anything bad to say are the people that "didnt" buy an Evo from EI. Im going to come out and say it, yes i bought an Evolution from Adam and I can honestly say I'm so far optimistic with everything. Adam has tried very hard to make things work and basically pay back what I feel is ok for to wait longer. I have gotten alot of incentive so far and will be satisfied as soon as I see the car in my front door. We all know the risk, so come on dont bash someone!
I own a E7 from E.I. also.Yes E.I has been giving us incentive for the time its been taking, which is beyond there control. All you guys are saying that E.I is just saying stuff to make us think the car will become legal,WRONG!!The relationship i have with them have been very professional, and i would be comfertable to buy another car from them. The E.I customers have been speaking with officals in the DOT.they gave the thumbs up on the EVO 7 and 8 for legalization.NO,the DOT is not on E.I`s payroll. If anyone is thinking about buying a EVO from E.I,and feel a little bit uncertain, email me ill give you my phone # and i can give you the real facts

About EI, yes they are working very hard to deliver your cars. Say's right here:

I guess time will determine the fate of your cars. If you just search more around the forums, theres numerous comments popping shots at EI. So please don't accuse me of bashing people without at least trying to know what I'm talking about. No bashing.
If somebody tries to sell you an Evo7 all you need to do is check with the DOT to see if they are a listed conversion shop approved by the DOT or that the car is on the list of cars legal to import for street use. Thats why only Motorex is listed by the DOT for Skylines. They were the only one willing to put up the cash, crash a couple cars and spend the time and effort working on it. When the DOT lists their shop and the Evo7 as legal then I would give them a deposit. Not until then.

Neither of which are listed on the NHTSA's own site.
Of course simply filing under the Freedom of Information Act would allow you to know how far along they are with the DOT or NHTSA since then the government would disclose all the paperwork that they have done.

You still don't hand over money until the car is listed as legal to import for street use. Otherwise you might as well have spent your money on lottery tickets. The DOT has to approve of the conversion shop as well as the importer and the car. Why take money from people if you have no timeframe of if/when they will ever be approved for import?
