Had myself a new code today.

P0102, low maf/vaf circuit imput, I had 12 volts going to the vaf but no 5 volt reference signal. It turned out to be the HKS AFR the PO put on the car was screwing up causing the car to spit and sputter and die. Normally it will go into limp mode with no VAF signal but I guess with that extra module there it was doing some freaky stuff. So I pulled it out and I guess I'm gonna get a ECM flash now, or something The car is running better than ever now and I'm not sure the guy had it dyno tuned with the AFR. I did turn the boost back down to 19psi (from 21) just to be on the safe side since it's my family cruiser that my daughter and I drive around in.

Previous owner, it looked like a typical quick aftermarket install with some butt connectors and quick splice connectors. Not exactly the best connection but it should have worked. I think the module went bad. It looked pretty ugly in my glovebox anyway.

Worse way to do wiring, I always solder my wiring and never had a connection/electrical problem

I fully agree with you on that man. I usually use an electric gun but I got to use a mac butane iron the other day for splicing some airbag connectors and it was awesome. Heated up in about 10 seconds and it heated the connection up really fast as well so I was able to solder it before melting the wire covering.

ive been an audio/ security system installer for years, and soldering is 100% the only way to go, especially with 3M heatshrink if available
