STI's have more grunt.
Get a tune and that will all change.

Stock or lightly modded and no tuning for either party I have always pulled on evos even one stock rs with just a mail in reflash. I am not the fastes driver, but maby for the fact that I was running an evo I was more willing to abuse my STI on the launch. One tuned evo 8 around here running a 3065 I wont run because I know it has maby 70-80 more HP than I and he runs his car hard.

Tune on the dyno. Also tell you friend to get one too since he needs one anyway. Then run again.

If you do even a mail in flash, you will stomp that STi. From a dead stop, it probably has more to do with who is willing to launch harder. I always just do roll ons, it is easier on the car, and more telling of real world driving.

Jestr - FTW!

gbmoto313, you have an evo 8. aside from the TBE you should get a walboro 255 fp, a MBC, bov and a K&N drop in. Then work on perfecting your launch and get a good tune. Once you do that you will stomp your friend. As far as tuning goes, you can tune on a dyno, do a mail in or find a tuner than can street tune your car. I also recommend if you dont already have a boost gauge, oil psi gauge and a wideband so you can monitor a few of the vitals of your car.
