2005 evo 8, helping my nephew out w/ this purchase... dealer had it advertised as an mr but i saw no vortex generator, normal evo rims, but ive been out of the mitsu camp for a lil while soooo i need help

 

look for the bilstien stuts, and the mr decal, the interior has 3 gauges above radio, look for 6 speed manual. should have mr decals in the interior.

 

Does it have a 6 speed? Does it have an Alu roof, you can tell by Ridges on the edge of the roof that run along the top of the car? And look at the shocks Bils or no?(yellow)

 

if it's a 6 speed.....chances are it's an MR. if not.....then no.....everything else can be easily interchanged or is harder to spot........

If you are questioning it maybe someone has switched badges? Which wold be pretty unrealistic but if you want to be concrete check the roof, no-one is going to swap that.

ya right.. lol no, But when you sell a car online, you put the vin number... So if you put the vin number in google, you would find the car!

 

No this one is not an MR. I googled it too and its a 5 spd. There's your answer. MR's are 6 spds. Don't let him fool u. No MR badge on the console, no gauges, wrong rims.

 

in my opionin look for a se- ill tell you why.
The 5 speed is a better trans
You really don't need the Mr suspesion over the great se suspension cause if your racing for a living your upgrading anyway.
The mr and se have the same HP and TQ
so if you want to spend more money for the better suspension weaker trans and a MR badge thats up to you.

Assuming the pics are correct, it's a base Silver Evo with SSL. Not an MR.

Edit: The Options/Features/Tech Specs list also has "Multi-function remote - trunk/hatch/door", "Cruise control", "Trim level: EVOLUTION RS"

It seems they are extremely confused/stupid.

he takes delivery of the car on thursday, thats is if the dealer doesnt try any last minute funny stuff...

 

Pricey at 25,000. Just look around a bit more.
