as we all know the evo was built to win the rally events that's why it is one of the worlds best all around production cars! it won numerous WRC events and has since been known as a rally contender, I would'nt worry too much on just one event

That would be quite the controversy if Subaru really did mess with the
Evos...

You really have to wonder about the sponsorship issues here. What would really be great would be to see a Team Mitsubishi Evo in competition against Team Subaru.

I was there and the cars didn't break down because of reliability issues....they were from driver errors. Rally Cross is sick though because its as close as you're going to get to the sport w/o driving out to BFE to see it. The DSG Evo made it pretty far through the comp

If I'm not mistaken the first Evo was from SBR. ...would be interesting next year with the Evo "X" and the "X" Games. Who knows maybe Mitsu will sponsor next year. Prolly a pipe dream though.

Its a complete joke compared to REAL rally racing.

Maybe Im a little pissed that the media is finally giving rally racing a little airtime but are only doing so bc a few motocrossers and skateboarders started participating and got it into the X games.
anything beats street luge

Ramana Lageman is in a privateer Evo and he won a round of the Rally America series not long ago, that got him into the Xgames. Then a practice crash ruined the car and apparently they didn't fix it well enuf; it dog'd out on the start.

They didn't even show Boris Said, was he the guy in the other Evo? Oh he flipped it in practice in somehting.

I wish I could have seen it, I only caught the last 2 races...too bad Pastrana got DQ'ed and I can't believe the winner came back, he was down by like 4 sec at one point in the final race

i found it entertaining, but it really sucks that the evos that showed up had to rely on their own funds and not any major sponsors like mitsubishi. I hope they can level the playing field next year .

On Sunday Aug 5th, we got lucky and tuned in the last part of the X-games to watched on TV the 2 Subaru battle it out to the end. The handicapped yellow stripe, Won! The Driver said he pull up hard up on the e-brakes and the handle broken off. I thought that was kinda of funny and cheap. So I guess he was driving and drifting without em'. It was fast and furious, but short. They started out with different courses, then they switched courses, and each made a 80 foot jump. Then they did a final race again. The vehicles were hitting block barriers and going on mostly dirt and pavements. At the end the Yellow stripe beat out the other by a car length. My son that was watching it with me, he asked; would our Evo do that? I told him that a regular car can't do that, unless they have special suspensions, but the stock power train could probably handle it. The Subies vehicles looks like WRX and not STIs., not sure what's under the hood. They were fully fitted with roll cage, scoops etc... It was very exciting to watch. I wish that they have more cars races that uses vehicles like these, but using domestic cars in televised races is a invitation to some to drive wild after watching it. I remember back in the early 90's in south, folks leaving a Nascar race would drive home like they themselves were in a race, it was real funny to watch this; pick up trucks, family vehicle drafting, driving in a platoon form , picking each other out. I do enjoy watching car races, and I am hopeful that they will televised more races with Evos, Subies etc..
