A Sad Day for the Evolution
I wanted to add that your post on qualifying times was better than mine. I meant to say that Ramana had the fastest qualifying of the remaining drivers, not overall. We all knew that ACP (slowboys driver) was a major threat on the tarmac. He was very fast in practice and represented very well.

ACP is unloading the rig today, and heading North with the car for the next Event In Canada - we are going to race two more events in Canada, and hopefully end the year at Rally Jamaica.
We started getting pictures up, about 300 more to go - but it is a start!

i give props to slowboy for getting where they got in rally this year,,there not a huge shop and for them to make it there was pretty cool. Slowboy makes some great stuff for the evo which i have some of...and they've always been great to deal with for me....Again Good luck with all the rally stuff SBR
Amen!
Go SBR! glad to see you guys out there representing the Evo's in the X-Games. wish we had more vendors willing to "get dirty"
keep up the good work & dont sweat the haters, they'll always be more vocal than the supporters when it comes to the forums
I loved the idea behind the X games short and sweet and crashing at the end.(shoot out) Dont get me wrong I still love WRC. But I cant sit in front of a TV for 3-4 hours on a nice day watching racing. But I do want to thank the EVO teams for at least making an apperiance it could have been an all Subbie event so, Thanks for your time and money spent on that event
Wish thing would have turned out better but you cant win them all. I think that if they would do this type of event (shoot out) more and maybe had all WRC brand cars involved this could become a major US racing circuit. It was edgy and held your attention. And nobody can say that that 80 footer wasnt bad as hell. But as far as the racing and idea of it , well it was a hell of a show and I wish there was more of it on TV this weekend.
I'm not taking sides here or anything but the Evo is a rally homologation car so it would seem fitting to use it for rally.
Again, not taking sides. Plus the marketing value of the X Games is nothing short of amazing compared to any drag racing that an Evo can compete in.

Hate to rain on this parade but the evo hasn't done well in WRC since the days of Tommi Makinen (so evo 4, 5 and 6). That said Subaru has had problems as well, it's the european manufacturers that are kicking ***.
ACP spent many hours the week prior testing the new suspension on the tarmac, he was VERY well prepared for the event, as was Ramana.

emblem did they make you remove it or did you just take it off yourself? I also remember the announcers saying subaru a hundred times but when they said something about you car, they just said "and we have so and so in the red car"
The sole purpose of the Lancer GSR (and every evolution after that) when introduced to the world market was the motorsport of Rallying. Rallying has made the Lancer Evolution into what it is today (not drag racing or any other motorsport) and will continue to further the development of the car in the future.
