Hole in Upper IC pipe

I just noticed(granted, I didn't open my hood in a long time) that I have a hole in my upper IC pipe. It was caused by rubbing against the hood vent. Anyone else have this problem? I've never touched the upper IC pipe but it does seem elevated.

Anyway, I'm looking for a temporary fix until I decide to replace it or upgrade. And anyone have any suggestions on an upgrade? Thanks.

BTW, I usually boost just under 1.4bars and now peak at 1.3 and hold around 1.2.

stock piping? if its rubbing something caused it to hit against that I'd check all your piping to make sure nothing moved out of place. In the mean time you could remove the hood vent fins to get a little extra clearance and prevent further damage.

do you have an intake on the car? sometimes those can cause the pipe to shift position.

Just take the pipe to an aluminum welder and have the hole filled for a temp fix (probably be fine for a permanent repair)

A real temp fix is to get some sort of crappy tubing from the auto zone "street racer" section and wrap the pipe (where ever your hole is) and put two hose clamps to hold it down. I would use some silicone to seal the repair material on then clamp it down. Be sure to let it cure for an hour or two before driving so the boost press doesnt blow the silicone out.

Or you could upgrade to an aftermarket system. Injen, fujita, and greddy
all have UICP upgrades.
