Shifter hard to move left and right

Has anyone had this issue before with the shifter being very hard to move left and right? It's almost as if it seized up. All we did was spray some WD-40 on the shifter bushings in the engine bay and the problem was resolved. Any idea as to why this would happen?

I had that happen a little bit when I first bought my Evo, but it went away as I put more miles on it. Might just be a little stiffness that you have to work out through usage.

Ususally this happens when the shifter cable gets stuck on the bushing. If you get some poly bushing and grease the heck of them, it may solve your problem.

For the time being, I haven't seen anymore issues after spraying it with wd40. If the problem does resurface, I'll put plenty of grease on it.

mine did the same thing after I put in metal shifter bushings!

I put in a ton of grease inside that rubber boot by the trans an it fixed the problem.

Mine is also do it that. Its like the cluch isnt grinding or anything its just not smooth shift. I dont feel it in the drive or in the peddles jsut the shifter alone i will also try grease cause it does feel like metal on metal and no lube
