hi everyone ... i need help on choosing which evo to get ..the 7 or 8. i want to now the pros and cons about them. i like the 7 but i dont know if is it okay to trade my 02 celica for a older car 2001 .. thats y i was thinking about the evo 8. hopefully ill make my decision in 2 two weeks or so. i really really luv evos big fan ..cant wait to purchase one.. just have to make a choice 7 or 8.

i was looking at a evo 8 2004 today and it has 5 gears .... i thought the evo 8 has 6 ????

 

dude please search on what your talking about evo 7 is stright JDM i think you mean the 8 and 9 and yes the 8's have have 5 gear the mr's have 6 same as the 9 so do some searching

 

In US MR version has 6 gears GSR and RS has 5, but I tought all European models had 6 in all the trims

 

only the MR has a six speed. i dont know how the evos r over there but in the us the 03's and 04's had a smaller exhaust side on the turbo. in 05 mitsu made it bigger which made for more flow and a lil more power. if ur gettin an evo 8 then id go with an 05. also they added the center differential in 05 which helped with transfer case problems. once again though i dont know if thats all the same in ireland. good luck though and either way u go ull love it.

 

He's in Ireland so he would have access to a VII. The VIII is available with either a 5 or 6 speed depending on the model you're looking at.

 

get an Evo 7 and Ill trade my evo 8 for your evo 7 and well all be happy.

I agree with SOEuro. Get the one that gives you the most extra money to mod with. It sucks to be bone stock.

 

Man i wish a 7 was cheaper than an 8 or a 9 in the US. I would pay 5 grand over sticker on a brand new 9 just to have a 7. *******!!!!

omg i got to test drive a evo 8 and it was brilliant.. so fast !!! oh man its would a big jump from toyota celica to a evo 8.the only bothering me is the clutch( a bit stiff) and changing gears everything else was perfect..
