death whine warrenty?

i know this topic is asked alot but i m not asking for advise i m just wondering where i stand... i bought an used 05 evo which i thought it was stock but later found out it had a MBC. and a tune(mitsu dealer didnt know it was modded). I found out it had a tune when i tried to launch it once and it had 2 step launch control. It probably had more mods than that but the previous owner must have taken them out. Back on topic i have a death whine, where do i stand on getting the evo TC replaced under warrenty?... The car is pretty much the same as when they sold it to me except i added a megan cat back. Do i have no powertrain warrenty cuz they sold me an used modded evo? or cuz of the megan exhaust..??

i dont think a catback would cause any issues, but of course they could always say that... so you never told the dealership what you found? if you have not showed the dealer i would take out the boost controller... never know they might try to say you installed it

if you put anything on the car for performance other than what was originally there, the stealership will say it was used in streetracing and will void warranty. My air freshener voided the warrranty because I farted too much- couldn't hurt to ask though

Did you discuss the warranty on the car when the guy sold it to you? You said he didn't know it was modded. So there should be no warranty issues. I'd put it back to stock. Take everything off! It's worth a couple grand of hassle for a new TC.

You say the car had a flash. The 05's had the 5K stationary rev limiter. Are you sure it's not the factory flash? If you cannot rev it past 5K standing still, I'd say it's still the stock map. Get with a buddy and pull the maps if you can. Real easy. I'm sure someone on here in your area would be more than willing to help you out.
