Evolution in NASCAR?
Anyone notice the how similar the new NASCAR cars with the big wing is to the the Evo 7-8-9? Not just the wing but the smaller size, style and aerodynamcs. I know they are based on cars like the new Avenger but it looks more like an Evo than an Avenger to me.
Wings have been around much longer than the EVO has. You're talking about two totally different classes of car here (in race form or street-legal form).
It just looks like a wing on a racecar to me. The fact that this is an EVO web site does not mean you need to go out and find every little performance detail out there and try and link it to the EVO somehow -- as if the EVO had something to do with it.
It's like six degrees to Kevin Bacon, except the EVO is Kevin Bacon...

two things, i thought the rear "wing" on NASCAR's were to causes drag and keep the rear end under control when they come off the gas?!?!
with the amount of money thats spent on these cars im sure that wing does exsactly what its supposed to do! lol. i think people forget that looks mean nothing in racing!
thanks Chris.

indy cars also produce huge downforce. they say at 200mph an indy car produces enough downforce to drive upside down on a surface, like on the ceiling, if it were long enough of course. crazy stuff. enough downforce to defy gravity.
