In my opnion, you should only let up if you think your starting to get wheel hop. If the tires are spinning or if your moving you should be fine. The factory 2 step is set too low also making you have to slip the clutch more to take off well. Mines at 6k and I think I like it here.

I first launched mine with 18 miles on it. Redlined it right after that. My evo gets launched at least once a day, 5 days a week.

then why the heck is my clutch slipping?? hum..... I don't abuse it. I do hammer on it every once in a while, even then, I normally don't speed shift through gears.

601 miles

270+ launchs

shep tranny after 250+ and 30k

80-100ish on stock clutch killed it

150+ on exedy twin and it was 40-50% when i took it off for the tranny build

If you launch properly the car will be fine unless you're making an absurd amount of power

4K miles before my first launch. Now at 16K and probably 20-25 launches on it. Clutch hasn't slipped once.

30K and I tried it a few times. No point in doing it really unless you're at the track.

bought my EVO with 7K. Stock clutch changed at 17K, never slipped once. Could have kept it longer, but I believe in preventative maintenance. 30+ launches. 20+ 6k launches...maybe one at 7K..lol. I miss launching with the stock clutch, but breaking tires loose with my ACT is more fun...
