Project Evo is a bust
Project Evo is a bust
yep, i called my dealership, Miller Mitsu, and i told him, "Ed, i want the evo!", he called me back yesterday and says it's gonna take $8-10k PLUS my car to put down, so here i sit heartbroken, so last night i was driving around Baldwin Park hoping my car would catch fire from all the damn fireworks, **** everything else was on fire, so back to Project Eclipse, first thing....RECAROS
So you're telling me they want 8-10k PLUS your car for a down payment?
Assuming your car is worth 10k, thats like $20,000 for a down payment.....most dealers will accept 5k or 2500 plus trade in.
I'm not sure who you're dealing with but if 8-10k plus your eclipse is a down payment then you're probably paying $40k for your Evo

6500.....55K.....and an acident, dude I'd be more worried about your Eclipse then buying a new car.....55k is an absurd amount of KM's for a car thats just over a year old.
If I were you I'd wait a few years, drive the Eclipse into the ground, because honestly the value of your car is nothing with those Miles, and an accident.
Wait 3 yrs and buy an Evo.

i might end up just getting an old 240sx (s13) and letting my brother drive the eclipse, the 55k miles on the eclipse is gonna stabilize though (over time), instead of 40 miles to work round trip it's now 3.4 miles because i take the train
Sorry about your luck. What were they asking for the car? It sucks when they only speculate that you should put 12,000mi a year on your car when the average persons commute means that they will put more then that on the car.
he didn't even check my car, it was based on my mileage, how long i've had it, and how much i owe, the sad thing is, i just got a new job where i make way more than double what i made before AND i only drive 3 and a half miles now since i take the train

Hold off for a while before buying your new car. With that short of a commute your mileage will start to average out in your favor since you'll be driving the car alot less. You might also want to look into getting a old $500 beater if you have alot of commuting so you run the miles up on that instead. Also keep it for trips to the mall or movies where your nice car would likely get dings from mindless drivers throwing their doors open.
