Well..........it seems as though I ruffled some feathers, which I am good at, but that wasn't my intention.

Cory just called me and to say he was pissed off would be an understatement.

I don't know what got posted last night, obviously a post or two got deleted which I'd like to see. I have the story now from Cory and will post what he said.

Cory felt that I was calling his car out in particular about the dyno numbers and not track times. In actuality his car didn't even cross my mind as I didn't read his article until after I made the post. The truth of the matter is his car does fit what I am complaining about, high horsepower and not time slip/mph to back up the dyno sheet. So I can see where the confusion lies, but I extend my apologies to him because I was NOT referring to his car in particular.

Before I get side tracked, Cory explained that his EVO is a daily driver he drives 80 miles a day. Has extra sound deadening in it, stereo system and such and he is completely **** about the car. He has absolutely NO desire to ever run the car as he doesn't want it broken, scratched or hurt. I can understand that, it's the same reason I don't take my RS to the road course, I don't want it messed up.

So..........I know I made specific reference to this particular issue of Turbo Magazine and the cars featured in it. The problem is deeper than that, this month we were in the magazine and I am happy as hell about it, it's just this month with use being in there is made me notice how many other cars have dyno sheets but no track times.

It is hard for me to believe that with all the drag racing we do, our customers do and the entire community as a whole does that someone who is building a 500+ whp car (of any type) that they don't take it to the track atleast once to see what it runs. In Cory's case he didn't build it for that. That is not the case most of the time though, most guys who build that much power build the car to race it.

Even if someone sucks at driving (like myself) the MPH from a poor time slip is a good indicator of what the car is really making and you have to be a really-really poor driver to not be able to get close to the MPH the car is capable of.

Anyway, maybe it comes from being a "racer" and just expecting that everyone wants to see what their car will do, I don't know. If I ruffled some feathers, oh well I guess. I was am not calling out anyone person in particular as I said. I am speaking generally of the entire import scene.

Look at these 1000+ whp Supras, dyno queens. It's useless. Seems as though most of those are built to take to the dyno once a year for their dick sizing competition and that's it.

I'd appreciate it if whomever took Cory's response down to me about his car would put it back up. I don't know what it consisted of but he said it wasn't offensive.

Thanks for reading.

It is back Dave. And the most surprising part of this thread is your response to Cory.

The car does look good. I've told you that on numerous occasions.

Just for the record..... The only thing I "copied" that I seen on your car were the Chrome Advans. Other than that the coincidence of them both being white, running a vortex generator, along with the JDM Evo 9 rear bumper and a carbon fiber lip falls in with the other 20+ guys on here with white Evo's and those mods.

One thing different with my bumper though is the "gray mid section" I had painted black since the gray didnt match anything else on the car.

Just wanted to make that clear so no one thinks I did my car by copying yours as that is not the case.

Thanks Speedlimit for putting his response back up, I appreciate it.

Not sure why you are surprised to my response to him. While I can be an a sshole if I am wrong I will gladly admit it. Since my post was NOT directed at Cory I have no problem apologizing that he took offense to what I typed.

Cory, nice to read your response. The car is nice and as I told you on the phone I pointed out to Jarrod here that I liked how the car looks, that's when he told me that's where he saw those Advans for the first time.

Anyway..........I have to get ready to go the track haha

Dave,

I appreciate the apology. I too apologize for coming off as an *** when I first called you. I truly thought you were commenting directly to me.

Congrats on the article, both of your cars look great, and perform even better.

J-Rod, never meant to hint you copied me. Just that I did my best to help you find the rims, and then I thought Dave was attacking me for having a "pretty" car without a time slip.

All good.

Thanks again for clearing it up Dave. I'll take my ritalin next time.

Cory

Try "Barnes & Noble" or even just a local book / magazine store. I dont know if you might have a "Waldens" there but we have one in our mall and they always have "Turbo".
Thanks my local mall has a walden's I'll go look for it today.
