If you have money, the R32 would be much more fun to own, but if you don't have good stream of cash flow, trying to maintain a 13 year old 'gray' import performance car would be quite a challenge. Getting OEM replacements is already a work to begin with, aftermarket parts will be long wait and cost a lot.
But do keep in mind quite a bit of people prefer the R32 for being more 'pure' over R34's. Also only R34 worth getting are V-spec II and Nur edition anyways.
If you can't afford to own both, just rid the R32 and save the headache. They worth less than 10k usd in Hong Kong and I highly doubt they'll become 'multi-million dollar classic' (using current dollar value)

If you can afford to DIY a lot of stuff, keep up on maintenance and all of that with an Evo for your daily driver, I would do that.. then you can just keep the R32 for your weekend warrior.
God damn, you lucky bastard.

I placed an order for an R32 GT-R and when I sell the Porsche, then its R34 time! Skylines are legends. In Japan, they are praised! Better keep your GT-R

I have an R32 GTR as well, it's an RB26DETT, 2.6 liter Twin Turbo, virtually the same engine as in the R34. I prefer the R32 as it's lighter and more fun to drive than the R33s or 34s. yes, they are AWD, but they have an electronicly controlled center differential that transfers it from a 0/100torque split F/R to nearly 50/50 depending upon wheel spin. Thus you get the economy and sporty feeling of RWD with the occasional needed traction of AWD. It's fun becase when you launch hard, the rear wheels spin for a second, then the fronts dig in, and you launch. As for cornering, the car starts to oversteer, then just claws it's way through the corner very neutral. In stock form, they are not as fast as many recent sportscars, but with very few mods, you are well over 700+hp.
Mine is currently in storage in AZ with a blown head-gasket. I am debating on rebuilding the stock engine, or switching out to an N1 block and building that up...
Parts are easier to find than you would think. Oil Filters I can get from my local Autozone. they are the same as the 3.0 V6s
The skyline is a very solid car. and even though it's VERY old 17 years now, it's still very solid.
They arn't worth that much money wise, but when I vallet mine at the malls, it gets a bigger crowd than Ferraris.

Hey guys I just bought an 03' BBY EVO. Unfortunately the crank walked on this motor. I have inspected it and know in the process of building another motor. Anyways I have always enjoyed driving friend's and customers Evo's so know I am thinking of getting rid of my R32 GTR Skyline and maybe buying another Evo. Just curious on you guy's opinion on this decision.
My opinion about getting rid of the R32....your an IDIOT!

We're not driving a 2g talon here......and becides not even 10% of the motors that blew up in a talon were because of crankwalk. People that dont know what the hell they are looking at just blame it on that because of what it is. Most of the time it was from something else.
Crankwalk is overplayed in DSMs and almost non-existent in EVOs.
