Get rid of GTR and buy an EVO?
Hey guys I just bought an 03' BBY EVO. Unfortunately the crank walked on this motor. I have inspected it and know in the process of building another motor. Anyways I have always enjoyed driving friend's and customers Evo's so know I am thinking of getting rid of my R32 GTR Skyline and maybe buying another Evo. Just curious on you guy's opinion on this decision.
Are you sure it crankwalked? I've never seen a confirmed case of crankwalk on any other Evo.
i can't imagine why anyone would want to get rid of one of the most rare and sought after cars in the world just to get a common Evo.
PS. "know" is a completely different word than "now."

Just imagine driving 1000plus hp evo.
Sorry about the grammar. I will take pics of the motor tomorrow when I go to work. The crank has shifted moving towards the tranny and you can see where it has eaten into the main caps and block. I will measure tomorrow how much it has ground into the main caps and block. To me this is the first instance I have heard of crankwalk with an Evo, but I guess everything can walk if the thrust bearings goes to crap. Anyways yeah the Skyline is nice, but I am more interested in focusing on one vehicle performance wise and doing it very well.

Skylines are the the most rare and sough after car in the import world, but here in the US it is still hard to get parts for the RB26 locally. I believe you still have to order oil filters from Japan or a website here in the states that carries them. Its not like the SR20 that was sold here in the states, but in NA form. There are alot of parts that are not interchangeable since the RB series motor was never offered here.
