yeah this is a trick diesel guys have used for quite some time for this purpose....just get the cheapest stickiest kind you can find...works well

Exactly. The really terrible smelling kind used by the old blue-haried ladies in the salons is the best. (Before anyone gets offended, I will admit to "borrowing" some from my Granny!). Aqua-net is the brand I think I have used.
