why would you want something longer for a filter? I would worry that a road debris might hit it and there goes your oil pump, engine etc.

I use a mobil 1 filter. I wouldn't use a fram, and I wouldn't listen to that guy that lives and dies by them. They don't make them like they used to, even the HP1 sucks now.

I use the Mobil 1 only because the closest Mitsu dealer is about 4 or 5 hours away from me. I would never put a Fram filter on any of my cars again. ON my previous car, a 2000 Civic Si, I always used the OEM filter. One time, and one time only, I used a Fram filter on it, because I couldn't get to the dealer. One of my piston rings broke about a week later. Did the Fram filter have anything to do with it? Probably not. But I still won't ever put a Fram filter on any car I own.

Wow, how many times has this subject been posted now??? HK is gonna have a field day when he see's this.... you'll end up as #23 on his list,

The end discussion was that the older OEM filters are the best (which you can buy from several sites for $5) because it filters well but also allows a good amount of FLOW. Flow is important and usually isnt accounted for in these discussions!!!

Moderator(s), can you please make the SEARCH function button bigger??? I mean ALOT bigger!

Mobil 1 is ok 99% filtering. The Purolater Pure One is GREAT, its 98%! Wix is fine not sure of its filtering capabilities. OEM is ok, duh. The K&N is only 90%. I've been in the auto parts business for 6 years now. I'm ASE certified and I keep pretty up to date on stuff like this because you get questions about it all the time.

Use nothing but OEM oil filters. Aren't too expensive either.

What list?

Anyway....

Mobil Oil Filter Part Number M1-108

Using M1-110 is taller than the 108, but has a greater risk of being damaged by road debris.

The K&N filters are a waste of money and are usually avoided by Evo owners.
