Buschur Racing slippery is fast, more aero stuff

Hi guys,

Been working on trying to clean up the aerodynamics of the EVO as some of you have been watching in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=296365

I did some other work on my RS and mentioned it in that thread. The idea was to block off the huge amount of air that is pushed into the two holes on the far left and right side of the front fascia. The passenger side is used for the oil cooler, so this isn't going to be for everyone. There are other ways to get air to the oil cooler but that's for another discussion. These flat plates we made from carbon fiber to block those holes off could have new holes put in them to be used for brake cooling or other things.

Anyway, here's a picture of my RS with the holes blocked off. I am considering making these as a bolt in piece. My car I put them in permantently with fiberglass but that isn't feasible for most guys. I'd like to have them made to just use a few small clean allen head bolts to hold them in.

Check it out and give me some opinions on the look and if you'd be interested. I have to do a run of 30 lefts and 30 rights in order to have them made. Not a big deal if we can sell them. Also, as of right now I have absolutely NO idea what the cost would be.

Thank you,

that piece indeed looks cool, but it would only be for drag racing.

These would be great to mount brake cooling guides into.

Perhaps routing air from the hood/top front fascia to the oil cooler?

jrsimon, follow the link I posted and you will see our new front and rear undertrays we just built

I do not agree these are only good for drag racing. That is not all my car is used for by any means. The oil cooler can be moved or kept where it is and then use a duct that offers less drag.

Go check out the thread on the undertrays. My plans are, once we get this up and running more, is to offer NACA ducts in the front undertray we are making. This could be routed to the brakes or to the oil cooler. The NACA ducts would offer MUCH less drag that the frontal opening does and still get the job done even better.

It would be great to close off the front of the Magnum and gets some NACA ducts on there! I was surprised at the aero work I saw on some of the cars at Mid-Ohio, good stuff!!

Personally, instead of closing them off there, it'd be more effective if you closed up the holes at the surface flush with the front of the bumper. Yes, more difficult to do, but more effective too

When I first read this thread, the pic was not working for about 2 minutes before DB fixed it. I pictured the same thing prior to seeing the pic. Almost like playing a cork in a bottle. Flush would work better, I would think. Anyways, you know more about this than me. Good luck. It looks good even though that wasn't the main goal.

I would prefer to keep the oil cooler in the stock location. The undertray sounds nice but the weight issue might be a problem. I also removed the undertray a few weeks ago. It's just a PITA after having to get under the car a few times. How does this compare in weight to the Beatrush and Carbing undertray? Do you have to remove the whole undertray to perform oil changes?

Yes, of course I know that this piece mounted flush to the front of the car would be better as far as aero goes. There is no good way to attach it flush and since this is my street car and the looks are important this is how I did it. This is MUCH better than the huge parachute effect you get in each of those opening withou them closed off and the project was to make it better without making it ugly or impossible to do on someone elses car.

On our black drag car you can see we closed them off (pictures in the other thread I posted a link to). Those are very close to flush with the fascia but we cut and ground the factory fascia to get them like that. Not something I want to do on a car I keep as nice as my RS.

Yes, the undertray has to be removed for oil changes. Remember, it comes off in a minute now compared to the huge hassle the stock undertray was.
