venting to the atmosphere has nothing to do with it. your 2nd statement is correct though. you're not venting anything that you weren't without the anti-lag; it just pops more because of the added fuel between shifts.

anit lag is not necessarily bad for your motor since rally cars in the early years and til today still use it. but your motor has to built really strong and your exhaust system including the turbo has to be heavyly modified to take the punishment. i posted a review long time ago about this, then i was a rally site member. let me see if i can find it

So taking crazy turns sideways at 60+ MPH is ok too because they still do it? How bout getting 10 feet up in the air off a big *** jump, that won't damage my suspension cause they still do it right?

Just playin man. Drag/road racing are just as bad for your engine so in the end it doesn't really matter.

oh its bad for it. just because its built doesnt mean that there isn't wear and tear happening after every shift. its bad for the turbo especially. they replace turbos fairly often. same thing with the guys in japan that don't run bov's; they replace turbos more often. of course you can do it, and the car will handle it for a while, but how long is the question.

nothing lasts forever. and your correct on your statement that there's a wear and tear on the engines, but what i'm trying to say is that it will last longer if done properly. just like in nascar, they use the engine once and it's all gone after that and that goes for wrc too, i think. buttom line, i'm trying to say is that it's not extremely bad to the engine to a point that never to put them there again, if done properly, it will work and last longer. and also that goes for tghe fundings too, you have a lot of money? then go ahead and do hardcore stuff like that but if it's a daily driver then take car of the car and don't put unnecessary things like that unless you really need it.

Run it and make a vid for us. Then hook it up to a meter that reads in hours and tell us how long it lasted. Then we can all decide not to run it.
