The Whats Wrong With Your Evo Thread
Paint chips, broken front lip, peeling light brownbos, loose side of driver seat, slipping clutch, inside wheel spin when autoxing.
at least the clutch, flywheel, and open front diff are going to be taken care shortly

Wow.. This thread is seriously making me stray away from buying an Evo.
The paint issues, the fading calipers, the strange noises, the cheapo interior, the engine, and drivetrain issues. I have owned subaru's for years and never experienced any of the problems you guys are describing. Not even from my 1st 02 WRX that I tracked twice a week for 2 years, and that car by Subaru standards was a **** box.
Like a lot of posters in this thread have said, I just expect more when paying what an Evo costs for a car I will have to have re-painted, re-built, etc, etc. I mean if i wanted to pay 20-30K for a car I had to completely rebuild and re-paint I would just buy an Ultima GTR kit lol.

are going to have issues. These are damn good, damn fast, and damn strong cars. plain and simple. for your wrx to "never have a problem" means your tracking days must have been gentle and slow. ps-when you pay 20-30K for a car that is as fast as 60-80k corvettes and porches, you have to settle for less than perfect paint and trim pieces. otherwise the car would have cost 60-80K.
dont act like subys are such good cars. tranny problems, oil leaks, and many other things plague subies as well. Every car has its quirks, and you are looking at 1 thread about the little **** that bugs those who are obsessed with the car. cheap interiors, fading calipers, and drivetrain issues happen on cars that have been beaten on like a 16 yr olds you-know-what

As far as the comment about tracking my cars; You will learn that you dont have to run the dog **** out of a car to get good results at the track. Running cars hard as they can go are what newbs do when they dont have the skill to carefully maneuver around a course and still be fast.
I never denied they were good cars, Im on this forum looking for one after all.
Oh and for the record Suby's are such good cars. They have never failed me on the track or off. Hopefully when I buy the Evo Im looking for it will treat me the same.
Im no Suby fanboi, ive owned about every car Ive ever wanted and like a lot of different models. But unlike most dipsh1ts on the interweb I dont make a decision on a car Ive never driven or owned. Im simply helping to educate myself (however little) by readin threads like this about possible issues.

$3.57 a gallon lol...
Transfer case bolts need to be re-torqued, need new tires, needs new brake pads, exhaust hanger broke off of exhaust and now have a quarter-sized hole in exhaust, and the typical road dings from having a daily driver mitsubishi ( I hate their paint)...oh and Tein S-Techs
other than those things, the car is deluxe and love driving her, just need to get some things done...

I've got an RS so the road noise on the highway is a killer after 2 hours or so. Need to get the alignment and bearings checked at next oil changed. Otherwise I'd drive to FL for Spring...
