how do get Evo to have long life
how do get Evo to have long life
How do i make sure i get the most out of my evos life? Do little things like living in 115 degree weather hurt the motor at WOT. tell me things like what to do and what not to do. I am not new to turboed cars but there are alot more experienced people on this forum than me. I would really appreciate all the information possible. because i love my evo and dont want anything stupid to break that i could have easily avoided. does it hurt the car by flooring it with the air on and down shifting to slow down. I think i am paranoid.

My plan and imo the most feasable plan for an owner who uses this car as a daily driver is to first keep track or all the necessary maintenance, I personally will be changing my oil every 3,000 miles on this car, proper warm up and cool down of the engine is very important in all conditions, simple modifications which do not overexert the stock components, personally I'll be leaving my boost levels at stock settings and in most cases that can help engine life immensely. Other then that I'd say just enjoy the car and take things as they come, theres only so much you can do anything beyond that is out of your hands.

just dont boost past 22psi and youll be cool. Other than that, drive the **** out of the car. Its a "factory" racecar.
I redline mine at least 10 times a day and I wish I had time to do it more!
I did get the PWR radiator to help keep engine temps as well as inside the cabin temps down. My cab would get really hot after I mobbed it for a while, now with the PWR radiator, it's barely noticable.

Yeah proper cool down and warm up for sure. Also proper oil changes using synthetic. I belive Mobil 1 is what is used. Stay away from the dyno juice. Also make sure you use good gasoline of high octanes such as 93 and 94. Pumping low octane gases will decrease your knock threshold and you will run more lean in hot weather, etc...
