carbon fiber clear coating

hey, i've done a series of searches and couldny quite find what i was looking for, so i decided to ask myself.

A friend of mine some how acquired an Evo carbon fiber hood that he said he would give to me. the only issue is that the clear coatign has began to fade and yellow in and such. I was wondering what i would have to do to re - clear coat it myself (what prodcuts to use etc..). Or where i can send it in to get it done. thanks alot.

If it's free, just shell out he money to have a bodyshop redo the clearcoat professionally.

We usually reclear a hood from anywhere between 175 and 300 depending on the shape of the hood...

Here's my thread on re-clearing a Evo VIII spoiler. This link is to the second page with the pics...the first has the directions and the products used.

Just an FYI, I haven't seen any good quality CF hoods that are actually lighter than the factory hood.
