twin turbo evos
ok guys i know this is possible but i never saw a twin turbo evo. I just want to know how much whp can it put down and if anybody has a link or vid??
Not to sound like an @$$, but there is no point of having twin turbos on an evo, thats why you have never seen one. Having twin turbos would only complicate things and add more weight because you would another turbo, down pipe, etc... Thats why supra owners swap out there stock twin turbo setups for single.

I understand, i just thought maybe someone did it or not. i've seen alot of twin turbo supras, 350z etc etc, its just i thought that I wanted to throw out there
The two cars you just talked about both have a 6 cylinder motor so each turbo gets 3 cylinders. There aren't any TT 4 cyl out there because just 2 cylinders from a tiny motor isn't enough to spool up a decent sized turbo. Besides, like the other people above me said, a single turbo is usually the way to go. When it gets to V8's and stuff, its usually personal preference of whether you want to go single or twin turbos, they both make a sh*t ton of power.

a couple things ....
1. it's already been done .. a guy awhile back twin 16g'd his Evo ... I believe he ran like low 11's and he was boosting at like 17psi He tried selling his setup on Ebay for awhile dont know what happened in the end.
2... there are Supra's running Twin T4 gt35r's and hitting way over 1200whp... The big power supras are not just Big T6's (or bigger).
The biggest problem for Evo's running twin turbos is that with our small 2liters we just DONT have the exhuast to push two big turbos to make it worth it.

Are you serious? Twin turbo on a four cylinder? First off, a V6 or V8 or any other V style engine has two exhaust manifolds to support two turbos. The inline guys like the Supra and Skyline run a sequential set up, a small turbo for spool and a larger (they might run two turbos with the same size but I'm not entirely sure) turbo for top end power. To run a twin turbo set up on a 2 liter four cylinder you would need two seperate manifolds or possibly a sequential setup but it would be a waste. There's not enough room and it's way too complicated to control.
there have been TT evos (parallal) and also TT sequential I think, even a SC/TC sequential. and I've even seen a photo of a quad-turbo on a 4G63 at some point. The benefit (in theory) is faster spool (smaller turbos), but the plumbing gets complex (causing losses in the bends) and things get very expensive very quickly. In the end the single turbo is the better solution on the Evo, if for no other reason than cost. You can get the same quick-spool benefits by spending the extra money on a BB turbo, while avoiding the plumbing losses. Also, BTW the stock TT Supras are sequential, and were built at a time when turbos were still a lot heavier (slow spool). Material technology has come far enough that the sequential TT is pretty much pointless now.
Usually the advantage of twin turbos on a 6/8 cyl engine is response. For an Evo, you'd do much better to get a stroker or that fullrace twin-scroll. Unless you just want to brag about having "twin-turbos", but that would be dumb.
