Question on changing trans fluid.
Ok well I'm getting ready to change the fluids in the Evo and have been using this link as a reference...
Evo Driveline Fluid Change
Noting this particular part...
2.9 quarts of Gear oil API classification GL-4 SAE 75W-85W or 75W-90 (I used Redline MT-90)
0.58 quarts of Hypoid gear oil API classification GL-5 SAE90 (I used Redline 75W90)
0.58 quarts of Hypoid gear oil Mitsubishi Genuine Gear Oil Part No. 8149630EX or equivalent (I used Redline 75W90)
I was planning on following this for doing this, however, shopping around for the gear oil, I cam across this item on extremepsi's website...
Redline PowerPack : Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII/IX #20406
Mitsubishi EVO PowerPack
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution PowerPack helps the complex all-wheel-drive system to transfer more power to the wheels across the power range and with less vibration.
Works with Lancer EVO VIII, EVO MR, EVO IX, and EVO RS and includes 6 quarts of 10W30 engine oil, 2 quarts of MTL and 1 quart of MT-90 (to be combined for use in the transaxle, mixing to meet the Evo's 75W85 gear oil spec), 1 quart of 75W90 for the center differential and 1 quart for the rear differential, 1 bottle of WaterWetter for the radiator, 1 bottle of SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner, a sticker kit, and a Red Line Oil embroidered hat.
The bolded portion is what's got me. Should I just use 3 quarts of MT-90 like in the write-up, or should I go with the mix (2 quarts MTL and 1 quart MT-90) as recommended through the 'redline power pack' on extreme's website.
TIA and sorry if this has been discussed, I won't lie aside from finding and reading through the write-up I didn't really search, but will in the meantime while seeing if someone else has an answer. (I like to do it that way, post and then search while waiting for replies
)
