amsoil users look here

id like to start a thread about ur guys experiences with amsoil lubes

id like to know how many of you guys use amsoil throughout your whole evo.
im currently running it for the engine/oil filter, but im thinking about putting it in the trans rear diff and transfercase. how many of u are doing this and do u recommend it. also since this engine oil is rated for 25k miles, how long do u guys wait to change it?thanks again

I've used it in my DSM as engine lube during track days. No issues. I don't anymore because it's a pain to get...

I plan to run it in the drivetrain as well, but I haven't gotten around to changing all of that yet. I've got a preferred account with Amsoil.

I got amsoil everywhere even in rear diff. Interval depends on the type you're getting.

I've run stock, Redline, & Amsoil.
Redline seams to "feel" the best, but has tough 1st shifting till it's warm
Amsoil, is the smoothest feeling, no 1st gear issues, picked up a couple of MPG
Stock, lowest MPG, the car feels sluggish after having Redline in it.

I've also noticed that the stock fluid heats the engine oil up faster, this tells me there is more friction, it also seams to have a slightly higher under hood temp when you stop.

FWIW< I was using the Amsoil 2000 series stuff, that they don't make anymore.

I got 75w-90 severe gear fully synthetic (GL-5) in tcase and rear diff.
I suggest getting a slip-differential additive for the rear. I run without it with no problems though (no sounds or chatter)

Most high end lube will have the additive in there, most of them will tell you if you need to add it.
