Hah, I forgot about this thread... it made me do a quick 'from the hip' tally and it's sort of depressing.

I have more than I want to admit into it. Some was repairs, some things were done and then redone with different parts.

Atleast now it's the monster I always wanted.

~$40K all in for parts/labor, not counting what I paid for the car.

 

ha yea its very depressing when you start adding everything up. im up to about $21K and thats all up grades theres only about $500 of that is labor for a little bit of machining on the block everything else i do myself

 

after owner it for 18 months 8-9K.

 

depressing indeed, that's serious dough. i've reached the point where i just don't see the cost/benefit tradeoff of it all.

everything could be gone tomorrow (stolen, blown motor, accident, etc) and what would I have to show for it? memories and a time slip?

maybe im too frugal, lost the passion, or a combination of the two

 

I dont even own a evo yet and im already part searching. Ive had to stop myself from buying parts before I buy the car.

 

Just aquired a bby 03 evo 8 5 speed for 7000. Has a blown clutch and motor. 33000 miles on the chassis, full works suspension, 3 inch stainless turbo back, aem ems (series one) upgraded front mount ic, greddy bov aem 5 bar map n iat, perrin fuel rail, 780cc injectors,came with tomei cams and cam gears, spare ported head, new aftermarket extra thick aluminum radiator and some other stuff. Im spending about 4-5000 for a competition stage 4 6puck clutch and a built 2.4 longrod motor and a bit more for a hx40 to be installed with a t3bep housing. Not bad for what it should be capable of once I have buschur done tuning it. (made 340hp on stock turbo,engine on pump gas tuned by them before the motor spun bearings)

 

Just got mine last feb by july i had spent 5k and now on top of the 5k i just spent 15k so yea im keeping this ***** lmao!!!

 

If I would have just waited until I could do everything "right" the first time it would have been a lot cheaper.

$0.00 so far, probably going to be spending 1k on it next week for minor mods and a tune.

i would think off the top of my head, probably around $15k to $20K i would say i have light engine mods done to the car, the rest was mostly exterior mods and some interior mods...

 

I have about 5k in mine, but I have only owned it for a few months the previous owner at least put 20k in it (mostly the custom interior, back up camera, lcd screen with gps and dvd player, and like 2k security system, seibon cb hood, 19x10 oz superlegerra III's, took the biggest chunk out of that. Personally I would have put it into engine mods but at least he made it look nice for me before I bought it. Other than the pretty stuff it has cams, boost controller, dnp header, his bov, his intake, turbo timer, fuel management system arm piggy back and it looks like he has it fully wire for a sound system but I won't be putting one in it :P)

 

Im at 4500ish right now. Now if we get into repairs and such with the car... put another 3-4k on that.
