alignment after clutch replacement

I just had my oem clutch replaced by the dealership and noticed while driving home that the alignment appeared to be slightly off. in order to drive perfectly straight i had to hold the wheel slightly to the left and i know you have to take off most of the front left wheel assembly in order to get to the transmission to replace the clutch. im thinking something might have been thrown out of whack there. has anyone heard of this happening or has it happened to them?

You don't have to mess with anything alignment related when replacing a clutch.

From: Michigan, Indiana, depends on the time of day.
while removing the front axle they likely removed the tie rod end and rather than removing it from the knuckle (which can be a paint) they might have chosen to seperate it at the inner/outer tie rod connection. This would allow them to 'accidently' mis-align your car while putting it back together. I would return to the dealer and suggest that while putting the vehicle back together they neglected to verify their work upon completion and request the vehicle be aligned back to the specifications it was at prior to you bringing it in for cluth replacement.

If they're dicks about it, get ****ty and ask for contact information for the regional manager.

Yeah but it still happens because you have unbolt and the lower suspension components. If you get an alignment you'll be fine. I remember when I had my old 95 tsi I brought it to AMS to ahve them change the passenger side axle seal. When I drove it home my alignment was all out of whack. Sure you don't touch any adjusting components but when you bolt the lower suspension back together it might be slightly off from where it was before.

Also they may have dropped the entire steering rack as you can do the clutch install that way also.
