EVO Totaled!

Well,
It was great while it lasted! On Monday OCT 29th I was on I-270 in MD going to work. Traffic stopped and then 20 seconds later I was nailed from behind at 50mph by an old lady who fell asleep at the wheel of her GEO Tracker. She spun me to the right and then hit me three more times in the passenger side before hitting the guard rail. She didn't wake up until she hit the guard rail.
The MD State Trooper is charging her with something so I have to go to court.
I'm fine for the most part just very sore from my neck to my hip. I'm still in treatment and have more xrays planned today.

The plan is to get an 08 Prius for the commute and get a MB C63 AMG later.

Rob

I drive 87 miles each way to work and due to US policy the gas prices will get crazy soon! Also I want the C63 but not as a daily driver. so Prius in the driveway and the C63 in the garage!

BTW: The old lady wasn't hurt at all! She was asleep the whole time!

There goes the Evo with the highest mileage! Too many Evo's getting killed. I wonder how many are going to be left in five years.

Sorry to hear. I'm concerned that this problem is going to get much worse, before it gets better. Baby-Boomers will soon become elderly drivers, clogging up our streets with unaware/slow reacting drivers. I respect the elderly as much as anyone else, but something must be done about this problem.

The obvious solution would seem to be mandated testing for everyone over a certain age. The problem is that no lawmaker is willing to touch that subject. Old people vote much more than any other age group, passing legislation is tantamount to political suicide.

Good luck find a new car, it must be sad to see the Evo go in such a way...

dang man.. sucks to hear.. where you coming 270s toward Nova or 270 towards federick? Hopefully you can get all your money's worth from that lady. I dunno the law down in MD and VA since I am new to the area but at least up north, its illegal to drive while your sleepy/tired... same as driving drunk...
