Unhappy Evo X Oil Consumption?

Hope all is well,

I have a 2014 Evo X GSR with 57k miles and its basically stock with just AMS Intercooler with piping, AMS Intake, Tial BOV, and a catless test pipe with exhaust tuned by Blueprint at 348whp/ 350tq. I went to do my oil change a few days ago at my 3k interval but ended up doing it around 3500 miles cause I was busy. When I drained the oil, it looked good for it being dirty with no shavings or flakes in the drain pan or on the magnetic drain plug have but when I went to throw the oil into the old Mobil 1 5W30 container I just used to fill new oil in with, the oil only filled up to around the 4.2-4.3qts line.

I know that Evo's aren't supposed to burn any oil at all but I was wondering what my issues could be? This is the second time in a row my oil change was a little less than 5qts after draining and that's with the filter as well. I had to buy a single quart to fill up a little cause the oil was on the lower side of the dipstick as well a few months back.

As I did the oil change, I didn't notice any leakage anywhere and I don't have any smoke from the exhaust.

I did notice that when I went to open my hood before the oil change that it was very very hot inside. I also have been having an issue where my temp gauge for the weather has been reading high. For Example it was 75F out and it was reading 95F+.

I have a compression and leak down test coming here tomorrow but I wanted some more input or if anyone else has the same issue.

Thank you,

A lot of oil can be left behind in the passages and lines, therefore the full 5quarts won’t drain out.

im hoping this is your issue and your not actually burning oil.

when you check your dip stick throughout the 3k miles, does the level go down over time?

Wait till a more experienced member chimes in. I’m very much well into the early stages of learning these cars.

ill do some searching on the forums to see for more info until someone else chimes in.

You should be checking the oil every 500 miles or so. You (maybe) burned 1 or 1.5 quarts of oil in 3500 miles, which is completely fine and normal. But you should be checking your oil level much more often and topping it off as needed.
