in Cali you have to have a CARB exemption for any part of the car that's been modified that affects emissions.

Does Injen have a carb exemption? if so, just bring in the exemption certificate to the court and have the issue dismissed. Otherwise you will have to fix it.

two choices:
-#1: put everything back to stock, pay the state ref so they can smog it (2 trys)and if you pass you pay the fixing ticket which is about 25 to 30 bucks or
-#2: pay the fine when the ticket comes which is about 200 to 300

This happened to me 2 years back when i still had the integra.

When I first bought the car, I purchased the Injen intake for my car. I went through all the papers and found no CARB exemption certificate. Then, I checked online and found no papers. But I thought Injen would be at least 50 state legal. I would call them or email them to get some closure.

That sucks hardcore. Out here in pa, if we get a fix it ticket, we fix it, take it to the police station, and then the ticket goes away.

I guess at least he didn't try to give you a state ref ticket.I got pulled over about 7 years ago in my old car that had a loud exhaust on it.When I asked the cop why he pulled me over, he said because he saw 2 guys in a lowered car wearing baggy pants.I asked him if he had x-ray vision to see my baggy pants through the car doors. It didn't help my situation but it just goes to show that cops will make up almost any excuse to pull over a modded car.
