Does your Evo Shifter feel notchy?

Hey guys,

I have been noticing that my car is a bit notchy sometimes when shift. I think someone was explaining this me, but I was curious if your gear box is notchy as well.

Sometimes, when i shift..i'll feel like one notch, but usually i feel 2-3 notches. and of course, when I am not moving...0 notches.

Is this common? I dunno since this is my first manual car. I don't think I felt this in my friend's honda.

Thanks.

i sure hope my shifter kills* notchy

anyways, what year do u have? I remember my 03 felt like SH*T. my 05 shifts like butter. I know the notches youre speaking of. My 05 has shifter bushings (under hood and in-cabin) as well as a works short shifter and it shifts smooth. It's probably bad bushings...

ps: our evos will never shift like a honda cuz its not a honda

Almost all evo's are notchy. It's nothing really bad and if you replace the bushings like mentioned above that will probably help, but the only way your really gonna get rid of this is to go with a Shep or TRE trans. Just to answer your questions your trans if fine and it wont blow up.... Yet... jk

2nd gear on my 6-speed has been ridiculously notchy lately. I've actually grinded a few times in the past few weeks.

Mine is just a little bit notchy, but just the right amount for me. It feels solid and precise but doesn't take too much effort.

I was just writing about this... same here on second gear it feels like it doesn't wanna go in... can it be the syncros if my car only has 13k? Im not sure and Im really hesitant to bring in down to mitsubishi dealers...
