Whats a used EVO worth?
A used Evo is just like a used WRX, nobody really wants to buy them. If your smart enough to realise it, the person who bought the car in the first place wanted to go fast, and the way your seeing people drive thease cars makes you kind of think twice about buying a used one, since 90% of them are probably beaten on, I would never buy a used STI, WRX, Evolution, since people under 25 can usually afford them, and they have a lead right foot.

A Used EVO with under 10,000 miles is worth anywhere from $27500-$29,500 depending on condition and features...
Seriously..
These are retail numbers, and definately realistic..
Color is important and silver seems to be the desitrable color...
Yellow, Blue, Black, and Red are less desirable..
NO flames please, seriously though, people will pay more for a silver car because the market is broader....
As far as the Pit Pass goes, if a car has one with it for these numbers..BONUS!!
After calculating initial costs, tax, pit pass, etc. A used EVO ai'nt a bad deal at these numbers..
IF you can find one..

There has ALWAYS been a difference between wholesale, trade-in and Retail values for a vehicle..goes without saying..
Buying one for wholesale is a dream, and any dealer that offers $22K trade-in is a little light and wants to "steal it" so they can make a big gross when they sell it ($27,500-29,000) given the inavailibilty of them new, or at least due the "demand" for the car in general..
To a dealer, (and customer in cases) it's all about hedging your bets..trade has to be cheap enough to still make your deal on the new car with the customer, or show more than it is really worth on trade to give the client the impression he is getting more than he really is...work the numbers how you want, it still comes down to this...
..a car is only worth what someone is willing to write a check for...Checkwriters are buyers..and determine market values, not the third party "negotiators" who claim to know the market...
Just my .02///
And sometimes supply and demand has a play in it!!

I'm a license broker
I am a licensed DEALER..
We could go on and on about what cars shoud sell for, and for all anyone cars about is a feel for market and I'm telling you, in the Midwest these numbers are realistic..
Ultimately, the buyer will offer what he wants, and the seller will concede perhaps..
Wordy?
Whatever.
You want to go back and forth about values and bore the **** out of this thread or ?? Nobody wants to hear about how much industry background we have...we are still third parties speaking form experience...

If you try for $29K your going to be waiting awhile to find somebody who doesn't know any better. Especially if places like Alcoa
are selling them for $500 over invoice. $25K sounds much more reasonable. Remember any options are now only worth their invoice price not the MSRP price of them, you will never get your money you spent on taxes and registration back and don't even bother trying for the dealer markup amount. Its almost worth it to get gap insurance on it and total the thing or find somebody to just take over payments.
